Volume 162: Rest in Noteworthy of 2025

2025: NOTEWORTHY

Every morning, after reading, I'd glance over to my 2025 poster as a daily reminder of what I wanted the year to be about. And every time, my eyes were drawn to the word itself - noteworthy. I've chosen a word for the year for about ten years now, but none have been as impactful as noteworthy.

Ephesians 4: 1 I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Take notes! Read + listen + ask questions

Be engaged with surroundings

Live out noteworthy life, like Jesus

Live with purpose

See others as noteworthy

Can't take notes unless you show up

Reading the Bible, acknowledging the noteworthy story and person of Jesus Christ!

Challenging myself each day to live out a noteworthy life, honoring to Christ!

And observing events, situations, and people around me with a different perspective!

Whether a Phil Wickham concert, job searching, a Simply Social women's event, a weekend in Mt. Ida, and everything in between, my journals from the past year are full of bullet point lists.

Lists of things I observed.
Things that I was thankful for.
Lists of notes taken.

As I continued this practice, I began to notice how I was slowly training myself to walk into a space and begin "taking notes" - slowing down and observing the scene and the people and what I was learning/thinking in the moments. And therefore, I was able to see how much there is to be thankful for!

Did anyone else spend their last day of 2025 helping their Dad put up BIG FOOT???

In addition to my word of the year, I had also marked the year with a question that I would ask myself and keep at the forefront of my mind:

Does everything that I do point back to the beauty and worth of Jesus Christ?

Whew! Nothing like setting yourself up for such failure huh!!! Let me tell you, it was far from "everything"... but every time I evaluated this question, I was able to remind myself that I am broken and in need of Jesus. So I was ultimately always led back to Him!

In my daily prayers, I would end with "O Holy Spirit, guide me today that I may live out a noteworthy life, honoring to you."

While the year may be over, may this prayer be always with me!

For God is the most noteworthy, deserving of all praise and glory and honor forever and ever amen!
