Volume 148: Rest in Positive People
We had just finished our 5 AM OTF class...
I was worn out from the tread 50...
As we walked out, Evelyn, behind me, said with such excitement, "that was great!!!"
I quickly sighed and responded, "you weren't on the treadmill!!!"
Why am I always so quick to revert to negativity or complaining?
Each and every day, Evelyn stands out to me because of her positivity.
She cheers people on as they head to their station.
She tells people "nice job!"
She even has been seen skipping to the rower :0 !
And in a class where we love to nag the coaches and complain, she is always quick to be positive.
While I tend to join the crowd... to be average... nothing that sets me apart.
So may I be more like Evelyn! To choose to see the small things in life with positivity and joy! Because as a recipient of her positivity, it can have such an influence on the people around. Much more than complaining or spreading negativity.
In addition to Evelyn, may I also strive to replicate Jeanne Austin's positivity! After a full two hour lunch with her, I left feeling so refreshed and encouraged. Over and over again, she kept stating "Oh I'm so excited to pray for you! And to see what God is going to do!"
Genuine joy to enter into prayer and to watch God work!
And in addition to Evelyn and Jeanne, may I be more like Champion Cathy! Her gentleness and awareness of the people around her. The way she spreads joy through her kindness and silliness.
As I think about the people like Evelyn, Jeanne and Cathy, they are living noteworthy lives.
A joy that is counterculture!
An outlook on life that is counterculture!
A positivity that is counterculture!
And all so contagious. Being around people like them makes me want to be better. So may I invite the Holy Spirit in to do the same through me, for we know I cannot do it on my own!
