Volume 109: Rest in Noteworthy

A new year! 2025! The year that everyone ~thrives~!

There are many mixed emotions about New Year resolutions, words, goals, etc. For me, it's one of my favorite times of the year. It's become an important (and very necessary) time to recalibrate, to remind myself of my rule of life - of what to prioritize and how I want to live each day.

Rather than creating a whole new list of goals, I have come to refine my current practices for the upcoming year.

As Unpluggers, you automatically get signed up for my accountability team. So here are my goals/hopes/focuses of this year:

I followed through Jennie Allen's Dream Guide, which I do recommend just looking through because I appreciate the different categories and specific things to consider!

Spiritual
- Bible In A Year - Everyday Gospel by Paul David Tripp
- Catching Whimsy by Bob Goff - daily devotional
- Prayer - pray boldly and specifically. Undistracted.
- Accessing the Holy Spirit - actually thinking about it's power and presence in my day to day life

Relational
- Kindness - loving those who are harder to love - We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19)
- Pray for family and continue to love them well
- Patience and availability - coworkers
- Hospitality - Unreasonable Hospitality - think outside the box
- Singleness - pray! 2 Part: that God would use me in this current season and that there would one day be a ~husband~

Personal
- Run 6 miles with Rory in November
- Cook dinners / bring lunches
- Read 50 books - fiction + leadership
- Study of how to best love staff this summer
- Try 3 new activities in Houston

Emotional
- Give self more grace
- Overthinker - set gaze on Christ - You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you (Isaiah 26:3)
- Positivity - revert to positive thinking rather than negative

Work
- Growth mindset - not shutting down at initial challenge
- Take advantage of the opportunities before me
- Open hands - let up in the summer
- Have FUN! It is a summer camp!

Question of the year: Does everything that I do point back to the beauty and worth of Jesus Christ?

And now... with all these things in mind... the moment you have been waiting for...

The word for 2025:

NOTEWORTHY

Ephesians 4: 1 I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Take notes! Read + listen + ask questions
Be engaged with surroundings
Live out noteworthy life, like Jesus
Live with purpose
See others as noteworthy
Can't take notes unless you show up

Now at first, you may be thinking... hmm noteworthy seems a little self focused / works based...

But that is not the intention ok! As I finished up the Bible Recap Bible In A Year, I was overcome with the beauty of the life of our God. How everything that was said... everything that was done... everything that was promised... is all filled with purpose. Nothing is done without intention.

So may my life this year (and always) be one with more intention!
That it would not be wasted!
That it would be one that others could take notes from, as Jesus shines through me!
And may I be quick to take notes from others, humbly acknowledging the way God works through His children!
