Volume 82: Rest in Teamwork

While creating the universe, God begins by deeming everything as "good."

The land and the seas were good!

The plants were good!

Daytime and nighttime; the sun and moon were good!

The animals were good!

Man was very very good!

But then came the first thing deemed "not good"....

"It is not good that the man should be alone."

While I think we are reminded of this truth every day, I have been especially thankful that I am not alone this past week!

Josh O, Abby, Josh C, and Wade willing to help me pack the U-Haul, even in rain!

Mom and Jake driving with me, not wanting me to make that drive by myself.

Josh A (yes, I managed to get all Josh's to help me in one weekend!) and his brother helping unpack the U-Haul in Houston.

Yellerton helping me unload my car at camp.

During pre-camp, we see this concept of working together all over the place...

Moving the trampolines to the back of the waterfront...

Sweeping the new wiffle ball area...

Moving nets...

Wiping fans...

Putting toiletry kits together...

Sewing paintball nets...

In the camp world, it becomes natural to help the people around you. But I never want to take it for granted. I continually have the thought, if I had to do all of these things by myself, it would take SO MUCH longer.... but when the task is divided, it takes a fraction of the time to get things done!

A burden shared is a burden halved!!!

Yes, I see this lived out with physical labor, but more so with sharing prayer requests and being willing to be vulnerable with others - to not hold it all in!

We need people!!! May we give thanks for the people in our lives. For our families! For our friends! For our coworkers!

It's a joy to be a part of a team like Camp Ozark and I am thankful for the constant reminders of what a body of Christ can look like. Different parts of the body all coming together for one purpose! And doing the small things with excellence, knowing that it will affect the mission in the long run.

And a group that feels like family! Filling up half of the audience at the Mt. Ida play to support the one and only Alana!!
