Volume 78: Rest in Seasons
The leaves changed colors!
Then the leaves fell!
The trees were barren!
Now, plants and flowers and trees are blooming!
In an environment of four seasons, it's a beautiful thing that each season brings about different temperatures, different views, different animals, and different plants.
We don't sit and pout at each transition of the seasons because we know we will experience them again soon!
This morning, I began reading a book I had been anticipating the March 12th release date of!! How to Walk Into a Room by Emily P. Freeman.
And at the very beginning, she dedicated a whole page to Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
And in reading this, it was if I have never read this passage before. It's one of those that is commonly read, so sometimes I am quick to just skim over it because I think "yeah yeah, I know this one." Or as Jada Edwards described common verses, "like the saved passwords we don't think about anymore because they auto-populate... but God's word doesn't work that way."
This morning, I forced myself to slow down and actually read the words and a wave of peace rushed over me. What a beautiful reminder that our short, temporary life is full of seasons. And the seasons are temporary - we are never stuck in one forever.
And with Jesus on our side, we are fully equipped to face any season we are in.
